Softball Instruction
At DNA Sports Center, we believe the foundation of every good athlete is speed and agility. Once an athlete
has attained those attributes, sports specific training is the next step toward truly excelling at their game.
Our Softball Instruction Includes:

DNA's experienced softball instructors work with athletes of all ages to improve upon their technique and
understanding of the game. Great focus is given to the player’s physical and mental conditioning, along with
proper body mechanics.

- Pre-game Preparation
With our youngest athletes, age 4 and up, we use fun, age appropriate instruction to introduce them to
the game of softball. Once a general understanding of the game is learned, we work to help them improve
their hitting, throwing, and fielding skills.

Suzy Urlage
Suzy Urlage is a 1995 graduate of Sycamore High School where she played a little at first and third, but
primarily played the position of pitcher. After graduating from Sycamore she moved her focus to college
where she attended The University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University where she earned a
bachelors in English and a teaching certification. Suzy continued her college career at Xavier University
where she earned a Masters in Education. During her years as a college student, Suzy was one of two coaches
to head up the first fast-pitch softball team for Sycamore Junior High School. After coaching at the junior
high level for two years, Suzy moved up to Sycamore High School where she finished out her five years of
formal coaching. Now being the mother of four young children, Suzy has been coaching teams and individuals
privately for the last 7 years. She focuses most of her training and instruction on pitching and hitting.
Suzy believes in the positive discipline of learning and coaching. She sets her goals of instruction and
training at high levels for each of her players and helps them obtain these goals with hard work, in-depth
knowledge of skills and drills, and overall confidence and drive for each individual player. She believes
all players can succeed and achieve any goal with hard work, perseverance, a positive attitude and a strong
work ethic.
